Our mission is to make running fun for every child ages 5-12 yrs. old.  So many times running is used as a form of punishment, we are trying to counteract that.  We want to “start” them off on the right foot so they continue throughout their life enjoying running.  No previous experience is necessary to join our group.  Through the 8 weeks we slowly build up the mileage to successfully cross the finish line of their 5K.  Each practice we start with a warm up, then we focus on the “game plan” of the day (we tackle many different topics throughout the session), then as a cool down we finish our practice with a game, and last we celebrate with a snack.  We also have a reward systems for miles completed throughout the week, so they can work their way up to a 26.2 charm!  We provide the necklace and charms for them to pick from.

  We will meet twice a week: Wed. nights at 6:30p, and Sunday mornings at 8am.  We meet at Crane’s Roost for two reasons: it’s safer to keep the kids together and this also gives you an opportunity if you chose to get a workout around the lake while the kids are practicing.  The cost is $75 for one child and $55 for the second in the household.  This price includes all coached practices twice a week, a snack at each practice, a technical shirt for the session, and the entry fee into the 5k in November.
